BandMate ("we", "us") helps you practice spoken English with an AI companion. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it. We keep it short and honest.
What we collect
- Account details — your phone number or email, and your learning profile (level, goal, explanation language).
- Voice and conversation data — audio you record during a session is processed to create a transcript and a spoken reply. We store transcripts, corrections and progress so your learning stays with you.
- Usage data — speaking minutes, sessions and app diagnostics used to improve the product.
How we use it
- To run your speaking sessions and generate corrections and feedback.
- To track your progress, streaks and IELTS practice estimates.
- To keep the service secure and enforce plan limits.
Third-party processors
To turn speech into text, generate replies and create the companion's voice, audio and text are sent to trusted AI and voice providers (such as speech-to-text, language-model and text-to-speech services). They process this data only to provide the service.
Audio consent
We ask for your consent before processing audio. You control when the microphone is used.
Your rights
You can delete your account and all conversation history at any time from the app. On request we will remove your personal data.
Children
BandMate is intended for users aged 13 and above.
