“Describe a book you read” kartasida ko‘pchilik ikki daqiqaning hammasini syujetni qayta aytishga sarflaydi. Kuchli javobda syujet 20 soniyadan oshmaydi, qolgan vaqt esa sizning tajribangizga ketadi: kitobni qachon va nega o‘qidingiz, qaysi lahza esingizda qoldi, u sizda nimani o‘zgartirdi. Kitob mashhur yoki “aqlli” bo‘lishi shart emas; siz yaxshi eslaydigan kitob bo‘lsa yetarli.
Rasmiy format bo‘yicha Part 2 da imtihonchi karta, qalam va qog‘oz beradi, bir daqiqa tayyorlanasiz va ikki daqiqagacha gapirasiz, keyin u bir-ikki qisqa savol berishi mumkin. Umumiy tayyorgarlik tartibi cue card strategiyasi sahifasida; bu yerda faqat kitob kartasi.
Mashq kartasi: kitob
Karta tahririyat tomonidan mashq uchun tuzilgan, real imtihondan olinmagan.
Describe a book you read that you enjoyed.
You should say:
- what the book was
- when and why you read it
- what it was about
- and explain why you enjoyed it.
Kartaning boshqa variantlari ham shu tayyorgarlikka tayanadi: a book you would recommend, a book you read as a child, a book you had to read for school. Har birida faqat oxirgi band o‘zgaradi: tavsiya sababi, bolalikdagi taassurot yoki majburiy o‘qish qanday kechgani.
Bir daqiqada yozilgan qaydlar
- Book: The Little Prince, in English + Uzbek translation next to me
- When/why: 2nd year uni, learning centre task: 1 full book in English
- About: pilot, desert, boy from tiny planet, rose (max 3 sentences!)
- How: bus to uni, 1 chapter per ride, 3 weeks
- Why: first whole book in English → confidence; adults obsessed with numbers; called grandma
“About” qatori ataylab eng qisqa. Syujet sizning nutqingiz emas, uni faqat fon sifatida ishlating.
Namuna javob: The Little Prince haqida
Mashq uchun yozilgan namuna, taxminan ikki daqiqalik nutq. U band 7 atrofidagi javob qanday eshitilishini ko‘rsatish uchun tuzilgan, rasmiy baho emas. Javobda kitobdan birorta ham iqtibos yo‘q: kartaga iqtibos kerak emas, sizning so‘zlaringiz kerak.
The book I’d like to talk about is The Little Prince. It’s a short novel that was originally written in French, and I read it in English about two years ago, in my second year at university in Tashkent.
To be honest, I didn’t choose it myself. My teacher at the learning centre said we had to finish one complete book in English before the end of the course, and she suggested this one because the language is fairly simple. I was a bit sceptical, because I thought of it as a children’s book. I also cheated a little: I found the Uzbek translation, Kichkina shahzoda, and kept it next to me, so whenever I got completely lost, I checked the same page in Uzbek.
Without giving too much away, it’s about a pilot whose plane breaks down in the desert, where he meets a little boy from a tiny planet. The boy tells him about the strange adults he met on his travels and about a rose he left at home.
I mostly read it on the bus to university, one chapter per ride, and it took me about three weeks. What surprised me was how different it felt at twenty. The adults in the story are obsessed with numbers and with feeling important, and I remember thinking that a couple of them sounded exactly like people I know.
So why did I enjoy it? Partly because it was the first whole book I’d ever finished in English, which gave me a real boost of confidence. But mainly because it made me think about how easily we stop paying attention to the people closest to us. The evening I finished it, I actually rang my grandmother, which I don’t do nearly often enough. I’ve since recommended it to my younger sister, and I’m planning to reread it in a few years to see what I notice then.
Nimaga e’tibor bering: syujet uch gapdan iborat; birinchi band halol tan olish bilan jonlanadi (I didn’t choose it myself); oxirgi band ikki sababni partly… but mainly bilan ajratadi va aniq harakat bilan tugaydi (buvisiga qo‘ng‘iroq qilgani).

Kitob haqida gapirganda: zamon, read va recommend
- Syujet uchun present simple. Ingliz tilida kitob yoki film voqeasi odatda hozirgi zamonda aytiladi: he meets a boy, the boy tells him. Sizning o‘qish tajribangiz esa o‘tgan zamonda: I read it last year. Namunada ikkalasi ham bor.
- Read talaffuzi. Yozuvda bir xil, lekin o‘tgan zamonda /red/: I read /red/ it last winter. Hozirgi zamonda /riːd/.
- “In this book is told about…” Bu “bu kitobda … haqida hikoya qilinadi” degan gapning kalkasi. Tabiiy variant: The book tells the story of… yoki It’s about…
- “It was very interesting book.” Birlikdagi sanaladigan otdan oldin artikl: a very interesting book.
- “I recommend you this book.” To‘g‘risi: I’d recommend this book to you.
Grammatika ustunini tekshirish: yozuvni gapma-gap belgilash
Rasmiy Speaking band descriptors dagi uchinchi ustun Grammatical range and accuracy. Band 7 qatorining mazmuni: turli tuzilmalar moslashuvchan ishlatiladi, xatosiz gaplar tez-tez uchraydi, sodda va murakkab gaplar ba’zi xatolar bilan bo‘lsa ham samarali qo‘llanadi, bir nechta oddiy xato saqlanib qolishi mumkin. Band 6 da qisqa va murakkab gaplar aralash keladi, lekin moslashuvchanlik cheklangan; murakkab tuzilmalarda xato ko‘p bo‘ladi, ammo ular muloqotga kamdan-kam xalaqit beradi.
- 1 daqiqa. O‘zingiz o‘qigan kitob bilan kartaga qaydlar yozing.
- 2 daqiqa. Taymer bilan gapiring va yozib oling.
- 4 daqiqa. Yozuvni gapma-gap tinglang. Har gapni qog‘ozga S (sodda) yoki M (murakkab: which, who, where, because, when, if bilan) deb yozing, yoniga xato bo‘lsa ✗, bo‘lmasa ✓ qo‘ying.
- 1 daqiqa. Natijaga qarang. M gaplar deyarli yo‘q bo‘lsa, tuzilma xilma-xilligi kam. M gaplarning ko‘pchiligi ✗ bo‘lsa, murakkab gaplarni sekinroq, qisqaroq qilib quring. Syujetni o‘tgan zamonda aytgan bo‘lsangiz, bu xato emas, lekin tajriba va syujet zamonlarini ajratsangiz nutq aniqroq eshitiladi.
- 2 daqiqa. Eng ko‘p ✗ olgan qismni qayta gapiring.
Grammatika qanday baholanishi haqida batafsil: IELTS Speakingda grammatika.
Part 3: kitob va o‘qish haqida 4 savol
Part 3 da imtihonchi mavzuni umumiyroq va chuqurroq muhokama qiladi. Quyidagi savollar mashq uchun; har biriga qisqa javob g‘oyasi berilgan.
- Why do fewer young people read books these days? I’m not sure they read less; they read differently. Most of what my friends read is on their phones: posts, articles, subtitles. What’s really shrunk is long, focused reading, because short videos compete for the same free time.
- Are e-books better than paper books? For convenience, yes: I can carry fifty books on my phone. But I remember more from paper, probably because there are no notifications pulling me away.
- Should schools let children choose what they read? A mix works best: a short list of classics everyone reads, plus free choice, because children who pick their own books are far more likely to finish them.
- Do films based on books usually spoil them? Not necessarily, but a film gives you one fixed version of every character, while a book leaves room for your own imagination.
Part 3 javobini fikr, sabab va misol bilan kengaytirish haqida abstrakt savollarga javob berish sahifasida o‘qing. Kitob haqida Part 1 savollari esa reading savollari sahifasida.
