“Describe a piece of advice” kartasida maslahatning o‘zi javobning faqat bir jumlasi. Qolgan ikki daqiqa uning atrofidagi hikoyaga ketadi: qanday vaziyatda eshitdingiz, maslahatni kim, qaysi so‘zlar bilan aytdi, keyin uni qayerda qo‘lladingiz. Eng kuchli javoblarda maslahat qisqa va eslab qolinadigan bo‘ladi, xuddi qoida kabi, va hikoya uni amalda sinab ko‘rilgan misollar bilan isbotlaydi.
IELTS rasmiy saytidagi format sahifasiga ko‘ra Part 2 da bir daqiqa tayyorlanib, ikki daqiqagacha gapirasiz, imtihonchi keyin bir-ikki savol berishi mumkin. Maslahat odam bilan bog‘liq, shuning uchun odamlar haqidagi kartalarga umumiy yondashuv ham foydali: people cue cards.
Mashq kartasi: foydali maslahat
Mashq uchun tuzilgan karta; rasmiy imtihon to‘plamidan emas.
Describe a piece of advice you received that was useful.
You should say:
- who gave you the advice
- what the advice was
- how you used it
- and explain why it was useful to you.
Yaqin variantlar: a piece of advice you gave to someone, advice you didn’t follow and later regretted, useful advice from an older person. Ikkinchi variantda hikoya afsus bilan tugaydi, shuning uchun I wish I had… tuzilmasi kerak bo‘ladi.
Bir daqiqalik qaydlar
- Who: Nodira, team lead; internship, IT Park, summer after 2nd year
- Situation: bug on registration page; 1 hr → 2 days; too embarrassed to ask
- Advice: “stuck > 30 min → ASK”; fixed together in 10 min
- Used: lecturers after class; IELTS teacher same day
- Why: respect = staying quiet; “permission to ask”; told my cousin
Maslahatning o‘z so‘zlarini qaydda qo‘shtirnoq ichida yozing. Imtihonda uni aynan iqtibos qilib aytish javobning eng jonli lahzasi bo‘ladi.
Namuna javob: “o‘ttiz daqiqa qoidasi”
Mashq uchun yozilgan, taxminan ikki daqiqalik nutq. Band 7 atrofidagi javobga misol, rasmiy baho emas.
I’d like to talk about a piece of advice I got during my first internship, which I still use almost every day.
It was the summer after my second year at university. I got a place as an intern at a small software company in IT Park in Tashkent, and my team lead was a woman called Nodira. She was very calm, very busy and, to be honest, a bit scary at first.
In my second week I was given a small task: fixing a bug on a registration page. It should have taken an hour. Instead, I spent almost two full days on it, because I was too embarrassed to ask anyone. I kept thinking, “They chose me, so I should be able to do this on my own.”
On the second afternoon, Nodira walked past my desk, glanced at my screen and asked how long I’d been stuck. When I told her, she didn’t get angry. She just said, “Here’s a rule. If you’ve been stuck for more than thirty minutes, ask. Nobody will think you’re stupid for asking. They’ll only worry if you disappear for two days.” Then she sat down next to me, and we fixed it in about ten minutes.
I’ve used that thirty-minute rule ever since, and not just at work. At university I started going up to lecturers after class instead of quietly panicking before exams, and while I was preparing for IELTS, I sent my teacher questions on the same day rather than saving them all for the next lesson.
I think it was so useful for me for cultural reasons as well as personal ones. Where I grew up, you’re taught not to bother older people or people above you, which is a lovely kind of respect, but it can keep you silent when speaking up would actually help everyone. Nodira basically gave me permission to ask. My younger cousin has just started her first job, and it was the first thing I told her.
Nimaga e’tibor bering: maslahat to‘g‘ridan-to‘g‘ri iqtibos bilan berilgan, shuning uchun eslab qolinadi. Undan oldin muammo (ikki kun) va keyin natija (o‘n daqiqa) turibdi: bu qarama-qarshilik maslahatning qadrini isbotlaydi. Oxirida maslahat boshqa sohalarga ko‘chirilgan va shaxsiy sabab bilan tushuntirilgan.
Part 3: maslahat berish va olish haqida 4 savol
- Who do young people in your country usually ask for advice? Traditionally parents and older relatives, especially about big things like marriage or university. For everyday questions, a lot of young people now ask online, which is fast but not always reliable.
- Is it better to get advice from family or from professionals? It depends on the question. Family knows you, so they’re good on personal decisions. But for things like health or visas, I’d always go to a specialist or an official source.
- Why do people often ignore good advice? Sometimes because it’s inconvenient, and sometimes because of who gives it. We tend to listen to people we respect and ignore the same words from someone we don’t.
- Should people give advice when nobody has asked for it? Rarely. Unasked-for advice usually sounds like criticism. It’s often better to ask a question, like “Have you thought about…?”, and let the person reach the idea themselves.

Maslahatni qayta aytish: said, told, advised
Maslahat haqidagi hikoyada ko‘chirma gap (reported speech) albatta chiqadi, xatolar ham shu yerda.
- “She said me…” Say dan keyin odam kelmaydi: She told me… yoki She said to me…
- “She told that I should ask.” Tell dan keyin odam shart: She told me that…; odamsiz bo‘lsa She said that…
- “She advised me ask.” Advise someone to do: She advised me to ask. Suggest esa boshqacha: She suggested asking yoki She suggested that I ask, lekin suggested me to emas.
- “An advice”, “advices”. Advice sanalmaydi: some advice, a piece of advice, a lot of advice.
- Advice yoki advise? Ot advice oxiri /s/ bilan, fe’l advise oxiri /z/ bilan talaffuz qilinadi.
Ko‘chirma gapdagi zamon siljishi reported speech sahifasida jadval bilan tushuntirilgan.
Pronunciation ustuni: iqtibos ohangini tekshirish
Rasmiy Speaking band descriptors da Pronunciation ning band 7 uchun o‘z matni yo‘q: bu band 6 ning hamma ijobiy belgilari va band 8 belgilarining bir qismi degani. Band 6 dagi nomzod talaffuz vositalaridan foydalanadi, lekin ularni doim boshqara olmaydi: ohang va urg‘u ba’zan ta’sirli, ammo oxirigacha saqlanmaydi, tez gapirish ritmni buzishi mumkin. Band 8 da uzun gaplarda ham ritm, urg‘u va ohang erkin ushlab turiladi.
Maslahat kartasida bitta lahza bor, u ohangni tekshirish uchun juda qulay: iqtibos.
- 1 daqiqa. Maslahatni bitta gap qilib yozing va bo‘laklarga ajrating, urg‘uli so‘zni katta harf bilan: if you’ve been STUCK / for more than THIRty minutes / ASK.
- 2 daqiqa. Butun javobni gapirib, yozib oling.
- 2 daqiqa. Faqat iqtibos qismini qayta tinglang. Undan oldin qisqa pauza bormi? Ovozingiz biroz sekinlashdimi? Urg‘u belgilagan so‘zlaringizga tushdimi yoki hamma so‘z bir xil balandlikda chiqdimi?
- 1 daqiqa. Advice va advise ni tekshiring: oxiri /s/ yoki /z/ to‘g‘ri chiqdimi?
- 2 daqiqa. Iqtibosni uch marta alohida ayting, keyin butun javobni qayta yozib oling.
Ohang bilan ishlashning boshqa mashqlari intonation sahifasida.
