Kutish haqidagi kartada qiyinchilik shundaki, kutishning o‘zida hech narsa sodir bo‘lmaydi. “I waited five hours, it was boring” deb aytganingizdan keyin gap qolmaydi. Yechim: kutishni vaqt chizig‘iga aylantiring. Nima kutayotgan edingiz, soatlar o‘tgani sari nima o‘zgardi va kutish oxirida nimani tushundingiz. Shu chiziq bo‘ylab gapirsangiz, ikki daqiqa yetarli bo‘ladi.
Bu karta grammatika uchun ham qulay: while, until, by the time, had been waiting kabi vaqt tuzilmalari o‘z-o‘zidan kerak bo‘ladi.
Mashq kartasi: nimanidir kutgan payt
Tahririyat tuzgan mashq kartasi; rasmiy IELTS materiali emas.
Describe a time when you had to wait for something.
You should say:
- what you were waiting for
- where you were
- how long you waited
- and explain how you felt while you were waiting.
IELTS.org tavsifiga ko‘ra Part 2 da bir daqiqa tayyorlanib, ikki daqiqagacha gapirasiz. Karta bilan birga qalam va qog‘oz beriladi.
Qaydlar: soat mili bo‘yicha
Kutish hikoyasida eng yaxshi qayd bu soatlar ro‘yxati. Har bir soatga bitta voqea yoki his-tuyg‘u yozing.
- What/where: flight Tashkent → Istanbul, summer programme; Tashkent airport
- 7 pm: board says “delayed”, no reason; excited → annoyed
- 9 pm: phone at 5%, no free socket; walked, counted planes
- 11 pm: old woman next to me, going to see grandson; shared somsa, her stories
- 3 am: boarding; by then, not angry any more
- Feeling/lesson: can’t control delay, can control how you spend it
Kechikishning aniq sababini bilmasangiz, uydirmang: they didn’t explain why deyish tabiiy va halol.
Namuna javob: sakkiz soat kechikkan reys
Mashq namunasi, ikki daqiqaga yaqin. U band 7 atrofidagi nutqqa misol sifatida yozilgan, imtihonchi bahosi emas.
Candidate: I’d like to talk about a time I spent almost the whole night waiting at Tashkent airport. It was two summers ago, and I was flying to Istanbul for a two-week summer programme at a university there, so I was really excited.
Our flight was supposed to leave at seven in the evening. I’d already checked in and gone through passport control when I looked at the board and saw the word “delayed” next to our flight. There was no new time and no explanation, just “delayed”. At first I thought it would be an hour at most, so I bought a coffee and relaxed.
By nine o’clock, though, I was starting to lose patience. My phone was down to five per cent, and every socket in the waiting area had already been taken. So I just walked up and down, looking at the planes through the window, which I’d never really done before.
The turning point came at around eleven. An elderly woman sitting next to me offered me a somsa from her bag, and we started talking. She was flying to see her grandson, who’d been working in Turkey for three years, and she hadn’t seen him since he left. While we were waiting, she told me stories about her village near Namangan and asked me about my plans. Honestly, the hours just disappeared.
We finally boarded at three in the morning. By the time the plane took off, I’d been at the airport for almost ten hours, but I wasn’t angry any more. What I took away from that night is that you usually can’t control how long you wait, but you can decide what you do with that time. And I still think about that woman whenever I see a somsa at an airport.

- “I waited him.” Wait dan keyin kishi yoki narsa kelsa, for kerak: I waited for him, waiting for my results.
- Wait va expect. O‘zbekcha “kutmoq” ikkalasini ham bildiradi. Vaqt o‘tkazib kutish: wait for. Bo‘lishini taxmin qilish: expect. I didn’t expect the flight to be delayed (kutmagan edim = kutilmagan).
- “During five hours.” Davomiylik uchun for: for five hours. During dan keyin voqea nomi keladi: during the flight.
- Until va by. I waited until three (uchgacha kutishda davom etdim). We had to be at the gate by three (uchdan kechikmay).
- “I am waiting since morning.” Hozirgacha davom etayotgan kutish: I’ve been waiting since this morning.
Part 3: sabr va kutish haqida 4 savol
Mashq uchun Part 3 savollari va qisqa javob g‘oyalari.
- Are people less patient than they were in the past? In some ways, yes. When everything arrives in a day and videos load in a second, waiting even ten minutes feels longer than it did for our parents.
- What kinds of things do people usually have to wait for in your country? Queues at hospitals and some government offices used to be long, although a lot of services can now be done online, so the waiting has partly moved to websites.
- How can organisations make waiting less stressful? Mostly by giving information. A board that says “delayed, new time 11 pm” is much easier to accept than just “delayed”.
- Is patience a skill that can be taught? To some extent. Children who have to save up for something they want learn it naturally, whereas children who get everything immediately don’t get the practice.
